- Get the right size. Measure the width between your watch lugs (where the strap attaches to the watch) to make sure you're buying the right size strap.
- Get the right length. Most watch straps come in a standard length that will fit most wrists.
- Get the right tools.
- Check the hardware.
- Get the right material.
Herein, how do I order a watch band?
Measure Lug Width: Measure the distance between the watch lugs in millimeters (mm). Make sure you measure from the inside of the lugs and shown in the example. It is better to measure the distance between the watch lugs then the actual strap width as this will give you a more precise measurement.
Furthermore, how do I get a new watch band? Removing a Strap (Leather, Rubber, etc.)
- From the back side of your watch, insert the forked end of your spring bar tool in between the strap and the watch lug.
- Gently apply pressure inwards towards the strap (away from the watch) to compress the spring bar.
- Repeat on the other side, and you are all done!
Similarly, what kind of watch strap should I get?
And for that, you'll want to find the right strap. Nylon and rubber are the obvious choices here — they're lightweight, soft, breathable and can be washed free of any sand, salt water and sweat. Leather and metal bands are also acceptable, but opt for something perforated or mesh for enhanced airflow.
How long should a watch strap be?
Measure your band width by fitting one of the millimeter bars between the lugends of your watch. Band size is the combined length of the two straps. Standard lengths for women are 165mm-180mm; men are 184mm-197mm.
