- Gelish Primers and Dehydrator (A consistent and effective brand of nail primers)
- Young Nails (A great protein-based nail primer)
- Mia Secret Nail Primer (An affordable combo set)
- No Lift Nails (A very strong acid-based primer)
- OPI Bond Aid (A budget-friendly dehydrator)
Then, what is primer used for on nails?
Nail Primer is one of the most important substances that effects the longevity of gel, gel polish and acrylic nail designs. It removes grease and changes the pH of the nail which enhances the adherence of the product. It prevents air bubbles and helps to stick a design to a problematic nail plate.
Similarly, do you cure nail primer? After the cleanser, apply one layer of the gel primer to each nail and let this air dry. Place your nails inside the lamp and cure them for 30 seconds. You will know when you hit 30 seconds as it will beep when you are ready to take them out. The lamp stays on for 60 seconds which you will need for the colour polish.
Also to know is, is nail primer and dehydrator the same thing?
Dehydrator would go on first and remove the oils, bonder would be used second to raise the PH level of the natural nail, and primer would be used third to help attach the enhancement to the nail.
What is the difference between nail primer and bonder?
Often the term “bonder” is applied to gel systems, and “primer” is for acrylic, but they both have a similar function in that they bind to the keratin in the nail bed to create a stronger bond for the enhancement product.
